++ is a series of rings designed to contrast the organic form of our bodies. Strong geometric designs and striking forms slice through the organic landscape that is the human hand.
Wearble Sculpture.
I like to think of jewellery as wearable sculpture. Designed to interface with the human body. In the process it transforms your body into part of the sculpture.
With ++ I focused on the hands. These metal forms, which are internally ergonomic, however externally contrasting with the organic form of the human hand highlight the decision many make every day to adorn their body with foreign objects.
Due to the bespoke nature of these designs, lost wax casting was ideal as it allowed me to form the softer material easily into different sizes and forms before casting it in solid .925 silver and polishing it to a mirror finish.
