Tapestry
Tapestry is an expansive textile project made 100% from reclaimed and recycled fabrics. The base material of Tapestry is multiple painting drop sheets, providing a strong base from which to build. The mosaic reflection pattern is made from a variety of denim, leather, cotton, and various synthetic fabrics.
Pattern. The water reflection pattern for this work was extrapolated from photographs to be projected onto the large canvas drop sheets.
This allowed me to segment the artwork into workable sections, as I didn't have a space large enough to lay the entire piece out.
Installation. Tapestry is designed to hang with half its canvas spilling onto the exhibition space floor. Inviting viewers to venture closer, experiencing the patterns and textures of the work
